If you are interested in learning the art of millinery, then hat classes are the perfect way to dip your toe in the water. They are great fun and you will learn how to make a stunning creation: whether it is a fabulous hat for Ascot, a headpiece for a wedding or a glittering fascinator.

I will teach you how to block your own piece, dye your own fabric, create delicate flowers and butterflies and trim your creations with crystal beads: whatever you want to learn, I will be there to show you the ropes.

I request that you pop into my studio before you start classes to choose the first piece you would like to create – whether it is your own design or one of mine (or a combination of the two). I will be on hand to make suggestions on what suits you.

Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 10pm, cost £350 for a block of ten. Book early to avoid disappointment: I only accept seven students per class. Materials are not included in the cost although you are welcome to use my tools and I have plenty of thread.

Please call or email if you are interested in joining Hat Class.

Hat classes with Edwina are one of the highlights of my week. They are a break from work and provide the opportunity to be creative whilst learning new skills. In fact, whenever I wear one of the hats I’ve created, people tell me to quit my day job.Sara Stebbing

After three years of classes with Edwina it's impossible to countenance ever wearing a shop-bought hat again. I have made hats and headpieces I never knew I would be able to create, drawing on her incredible creativity, attention to detail and impeccable taste.Naomi Lawson
